Nearly 750 students, parents and mentors arrive on Aug. 21 at CSU Dominguez Hills for CSU Super Saturday. During the course of the day, participants hear from motivational speakers, participate in educational sessions, and explore a college fair featuring the CSU campuses.

Paramount High School seniors and sisters, Jennifer and Monica Castillo, register for CSU Super Saturday–encouraged by their parents Javier and Maria Castillo, as well as their little brother Adrian.

The Rev. Sherman A. Gordon, senior pastor of New Philadelphia African Methodist Episcopal Church, gives the keynote address for the open ceremony of CSU Super Saturday. Tony Ross, vice president of student affairs for Cal State L.A. and coordinator of the CSU African American Initiative, moderates the ceremony.

CSU Super Saturday participants meet with CSU Dominguez Hills President Mildred García and CSU Executive Vice Chancellor Benjamin F. Quillian in the CSUDH University Theater.

Darius Riggins, associate director of Admissions & Recruitment at CSU Channel Islands, offers advice for adjusting to life in college to a packed room during a workshop on 'The Freshmen Experience.'

Audra Hollingsworth, a teacher from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, accompanies her students as they attend college preparation workshops.

Patriot High School students and sisters, Aariana and Aaliyah Goshen, explore the college fair with their mother, Regina Goshen, and family friend, Debra Weathers. The sisters are interested in athletic programs and scholarships in the CSU system.
