CSU, Entertainment Leaders Meet to Discuss Industry Partnerships

A delegation of CSU staff and faculty including Chancellor Timothy P. White and San Francisco State President Les Wong met with entertainment industry leaders including DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg on September 26 for the fifth annual meeting of the CSU Entertainment Industry Advisory Council. Composed of leaders in the media business, the industry group aims to increase training opportunities for the 14,000 students enrolled in the CSU’s 28 media arts programs.

The group discussed the status of key industry partnerships including DreamCrits, FOX Creative University and the CSU’s Summer Arts program. The council also heard from faculty at Cal State Fullerton and San Francisco State about incorporating emerging market, technology and artistry themes into curricula.

The CSU Entertainment Industry Initiative has provided campus visits by industry professionals, placed students in thousands of internships, facilitated the purchase of laptops and software, and offered invaluable insight for students seeking careers in the media industry. Find out more here.
