As the 41st pick overall, Jamaal Franklin from San Diego State was taken in the second round by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2013 NBA Draft. Franklin is the second Aztec in the last three seasons to be selected in the draft. Averaging 13.6 points and 7.0 rebounds in 87 games at SDSU, Franklin joins the Grizzlies as a shooting guard.
Long Beach State senior wingman James Ennis was selected with the 50th overall pick in the second round of the 2013 NBA Draft, becoming the first 49er drafted since 1998. Ennis was picked by the Atlanta Hawks before being dealt to the two-time defending champion Miami Heat via a trade. During his two seasons at Long Beach State, Ennis helped lead the 49ers to back-to-back regular season Big West championships.
