Departments collaborate on Annual Fashion Show at SFSU
SF State’s annual student-run fashion show, “Runway 2012: Defined,” will showcase designs by graduating seniors. It will also showcase the collaborative efforts of dozens of students across three departments who combined their skills to make the event a success and, in doing so, got a unique perspective on other parts of the creative process to which they may not have otherwise been exposed.
SF State’s apparel design and merchandising (ADM) program as well as the broadcast and electronic communication arts (BECA) and marketing departments have all contributed to the fashion show. ADM students provided the designs and put the show together. Earlier this semester, marketing students queried other SF State students about what would convince them to attend the show. BECA students took that information and created posters and promotional videos and will also be on hand to film the event and help with lighting.
