There are 22 campuses in the CSU system with film, television, animation, and other media programs, and only eight of them are in the Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay areas. Students in Los Angeles or San Francisco can readily find media internships, but what about students from the other 14 CSU campuses?
The Media Internship Program was created to meet the needs of media students from throughout the CSU system by serving as a centralized clearinghouse for internship opportunities that will be open to all CSU students, regardless of which campus they attend. The Internship Program also provides low-cost on-campus housing in Los Angeles and San Francisco for students who work summer internships.
Over 400 students from throughout the state are placed in meaningful internships each year, and many of these students go on to find paying jobs through the companies they intern for, or through professional connections they made during their internships.
You must be a currently enrolled student or recent graduate (less than 6 months ago) at any of the 23 California State University campuses to apply.
Major studios and independent companies are recruiting now! We will accept ongoing applications for internships for fall, winter, spring, or summer semesters. We will match qualified CSU students with employers in the film, television, video game, animation, interactive, and other media industries.
