CSU Campuses and All Green Electronics Recycling Take On E-Waste

April 7th, 2011

The CSU Center for Community Engagement

Stacks of unused obsolete computers

Technology’s blistering pace is leaving a hazardous byproduct in its wake: E-Waste.  E-Waste is that outdated laptop in your hall closet, that VCR you haven’t used since you got the new DVD player, the dust-covered monitor in your garage.  E-waste is basically anything (other than furniture and kitchen appliances) with a plug that is unused, obsolete or non-working.

From April 9 through April 23, CSU Stanislaus, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CSU Northridge, CSU San Bernardino, San Diego State, CSU Channel Islands, CSU San Marcos and CSU Dominguez Hills will partner with All Green Electronics Recycling to collect E-waste while educating the campus community and public.

The Earth Day E-Waste events will take place at Cal State campuses on the following dates and times:

4/9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
CSU Stanislaus

4/22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
CSU Northridge
CSU San Bernardino
San Diego State

4/23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
CSU Channel Islands
CSU Dominguez Hills
San Diego State
CSU San Marcos
