Majoring in Psychology

Posted by Arzoo

I have been in love with psychology since the first class I took in high school. Usually when I tell people that I am getting my degree in this field, they automatically ask me if I can read minds. Psychology is so much more than reading some ones behaviors. Throughout the classes I have taken I found that psychology is a very broad field. I have learned about memory, therapy, research, experiments, conditioning, abnormal psychology, child psychology, developmental psychology, and pharmacology. With a degree in psychology a person can go into almost any field afterwards. It is incredibly broad and has many options. You can go into social work, therapy, human resource, research, or even business and so much more.

The Start and the End

Posted by Marilu

Fall semester started so soon where did the summer go. This marks the beginning of my last year as an undergrad. Time flew I recall the moment I moved into the dorms and how scared I felt to start a new chapter in my life. Four years later Turlock became my second home where I created long lasting friendships and unforgettable memories. Even though the end is coming in a couple of months. I know that it will be the start to my graduate education and a new chapter ready to be written.

Anyways, enough of that. I’m excited to what is to come this semester. I look forward to my classes and the various on-campus and sorority events. Rush started last week and it’s gone great so I look forward to this coming week.

For all of you, good luck this semester. I hope it’s a good one.

In-state vs. Out-of-State

Posted by Evelyn

When I was applying for college, I faced the struggle of whether to choose colleges that were in-state or out-of-state. Many of you may find yourselves in a similar situation. Here’s a list of pros and cons that I came up with:

In-State Out-of-State

Cheaper tuition New environment

Family close by Independence

Friends close by Family far away

Sense of comfort Sense of discovery

Feeling stuck Expensive tuition

Same environment Unfamiliar weather

Family close by Family far away

Lower independency Friends far away

I hope this list helps you point out what are the most important to you and aids in the process of narrowing down colleges to apply for!
