Proud to be a Warrior
In the three and a half years I’ve being at CSU Stanislaus I’ve realized how great it is to be a warrior. This school has more to offer than anyone can imagine. Some have never heard of Stanislaus nor can’t pronounce it. Well let me tell you about the university that has made my college experience memorable. We are located in Turlock, CA, in the central valley. We have one of the most beautiful campuses I’ve seen. Very park like with 7 ponds, cute ducks, and beautiful roses. You can sit by a tree do your homework, read, or just relax. Since the whole campus has Wi-Fi there’s no excuse to stay indoors . Not only is the campus beautiful; but it offers many services and programs for students. To mention a few there is our tutoring center that provides academic support for students. It offers tutoring in most subjects with a personal tutor or during walk in hours. The writing center assists with essay planning, organization, development, revision, and more.
Our own library is equipped with quiet study areas and group study rooms. There is several computer labs and laptops for checkout. Also, available is our reserve system where some professors have the textbook of the course on reserve for students to check out if they don’t have their textbook. This are just a few of the many services just our library has to offer imagine the rest of the campus. Students are also offered academic advising where they can start their four year plans. There is programs such as EOP (Educational Opportunity Program), SSS (Student Support Services), PACE (Program for Academic & Career Excellence) that provide academic support for students.
Now let’s talk about student life, I love it! From my personal experience I’ve taken full advantage of it by joining 3 clubs, ASI (Associated Students Inc.), Greek life, and working two jobs on-campus. I’ve enjoyed every single one of my experiences for each of the activities I’ve taken part of. ASI plans so many events for students such as Homecoming through out the year where they can enjoy free food, raffles, free T-shirts, games, live music, and more. Warrior Day has been one of the students ultimate favorite where we’ve had Baby Bash, New Boys, Mims, Ying Yang twins, and more perform.
In a nutshell, this school might not be the biggest nor have a football team; but it is big enough where students can meet people, build life- long relationships, create relationships with professors since class sizes are small, take advantage of all the services, enjoy sports, Greek life, and Housing. We have one of the nicest dorms, apartment style with different housing types to fit everyone’s needs. This school has so much to offer and for me it has given me all I could ask for. I’ve met wonderful people that I hold very close to my heart. I’ve grown as a person and discovered who I am and what I want to accomplish personally and career wise.
Many people don’t say this but Thank You CSU Stanislaus!
